Last night
 You came back
 Alive.
 I smothered your face
 In tears,
 Drank your eyes,
 Wove my fingers
 Through your wiry curls.
 Cheek to cheek,
 Foreheads kissing,
 Scent gathering,
 I brushed against your lips
 and melted.
 Then you were gone.
